Membership is how you and your organization can join the conversation and get actively involved with the ISOOC open standard development.

Membership Tier Overview

In the segment below you can find a general overview of the ISOOC membership tiers. There are two types of membership: individual and corporate.

Individual memberships are available in two tiers: founders and supporters. Corporate memberships are available in four tiers: Founding Member, Platinum Member, Gold Member, and Observer. Each tier comes with a set of benefits as outlined in the table below.

Individual Membership Tier Details

There are two tiers that fall in the individual type category: Founder and Supporter.

The Founder tier is reserved for the two founders of ISOOC: Jon Sandström and Pieter-Jan Plaisier. They have a permanent seat at the ISOOC Board and the ISOOC Committee.

The Supporter tier is available for anyone who wants to support and follow the ISOOC activities. Membership is obtained by making a donation of any value to ISOOC. The Supporter tier grants you access to all the open standards as well as a seat in the Committee via the elected Special Interest Group Representative. Supporters can also propose new Workgroups via their elected Special Interest Group Representative.

Corporate Membership Tier Details

There are four tiers that fall in the corporate type category: Founding Member, Platinum Member, Gold Member, and Observer.

The Founding Member tier is reserved for organizations that join ISOOC from the very first moment. The membership tier is limited to maximum three members and is closed after the establishment of the ISOOC organization. Apart from the special appreciation and status, the main benefit for a Founding Member is the lower fees. Founding Members get a seat at the ISOOC Board as well as the ISOOC Committee. In the Committee they also have double voting rights.

The Platinum Member tier is reserved for organizations that want to actively drive the future of the ISOOC organization and its principles. Similar to the Founding Member tier, Platinum Members have a seat at the ISOOC Board and a seat at the ISOOC Committee with double voting rights. Any organization can apply for Platinum Membership but any application must be approved by the ISOOC Board.

The Gold Member tier is reserved for organizations that want to actively drive the ISOOC Workgroups and open standard development. They get a seat at the ISOOC Committee which decides on Workgroups, the Workgroup Leads, and votes on the approval of new ISOOC standards.

The Observer tier is reserved for organizations that wish to have access to the ISOOC open standards and develop products with those standards. The Observer tier also grants you a seat in the Committee via the elected Special Interest Group Representative. Observers can also propose new Workgroups via their elected Special Interest Group Representative.
